Just my little HP theory...

Everyone seems to have noticed the significance of Dumbledore’s defeat of the dark lord Grindelwald in 1945. But who exactly is he?

We have to assume the time frame of the whole series.
On pg 102 of the UK edition of Chamber - Sir Nick's deathday was in1492, and we know it is his 500th death day – hence, it must be 1992 in Chamber.
We also know, on pg 180 of Chamber, that Voldemort was in his 5th year when the chamber was opened, which we know was 50 years before. Thus, it must be 1942 when Voldy was in his fifth year. Which means his last year at Hogwarts was 1944 – one year before Grindelwald was defeated.
Harry was born in 1980 (using the time frame established above) and when he was 1 year old and dropped off on the Dursley’s door step – Dumbledore says “11years” twice. "they've had precious little to celebrate for 11 years" (pg 13, Philosopher's) and "for 11 years I've been trying to persuade people to call him by his proper name: Voldemort." (pg 14, Philosopher’s).
So Voldy has been feared since 1970.

Questions:
1. We know that Dumbledore would only call him ‘Tom Riddle’ (his memory in Prince) and this was a year after he left school. So why would he say that he’s been trying for 11 years to get people to call him “Voldemort” when he wouldn’t in 1945? What has changed between 1945 and 1970?
2. Also, what was Voldemort doing between 1945 and 1970?
3. Why haven’t we heard anything about Grindelwald, except that he’s was a dark lord and that he was defeated in 1945? (In her interview with MuggleNet and The Leaky Cauldron, JKR said Grindelwald is dead.)

My speculation:
Grindelwald and Voldemort are the same person.

This would explain why Voldy fears Dumbledore and no one else.
Just because JKR says he’s dead, doesn’t mean he wasn’t a subpersonality of Voldy.
It would also explain why you can take “RIDDLE” out of “GRINDELWALD”. (Not that the other letters GNWAL have any significance, but then again, we don’t know if he has a first name or if there’s another bit to it like in I AM LORD VOLDEMORT.)

If JKR can make a riddle out of Riddle once, she can do it again.
